The Cheery Children Education Centre is located in the Kibera Slum outside Nairobi, Kenya. With approximately 500 students currently enrolled, Cheery Centre is providing a quality Christian Education to children who would otherwise not be in school.
Many of the students attending have lost a parent, or sometimes both, to AIDS. For some, the meal served at school is their only food for the day. We are working to improve the feeding program by adding meat and fresh fruit to the students' diet through our Food For Thought Program.
Through student sponsorship, we provide a one-on-one relationship for the student and the chance to receive a quality education which will empower them to escape the cycle of poverty into which they were born.
Rainy season in Uganda can bring cooler temperatures. With no heat in the buildings, the children were cold. All of the students now have a new sweater, and don't they look wonderful?
From a pile of donated bricks to a completed building in just six months! God has been so faithful in providing for the construction of Star Campus Junior School every step of the way!
The Literary Ladies Book Club in New Jersey surprised the children on Christmas day with a new library for their new school building. Developing a love of reading is critical to the students' success on their exams, which will determine their future educational opportunities.
