FULL STEAM AHEAD!
Friday, October 18, 2019: It was a busy day at Star Campus Junior School today! We had a generous donation to begin construction on the dormitories and the improved pit latrine. The money was wired to Uganda on Wednesday, received Thursday, and on Friday work began digging the foundation and the pit.
THESE GUYS ARE AMAZING! SUCH HARD WORKERS!
It's a blessing for us to be able to bless these men with work. They do a great job and work so quickly!
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE BEEN FAITHFULLY SUPPORTING THIS PROJECT! YOUR DONATIONS ARE HELPING TRANSFORM LIVES THROUGH THE LOVE OF JESUS.
Join us in praying for the funds needed to drill a well so the children have clean water, install a fence on the property for their safety, and hire a carpenter to build bunk beds for the dorms.
God has been so faithful in providing for the needs of His children and we trust Him to continue in that provision.
"There are no great people in this world, only great challenges which ordinary people rise to meet. Challenges are what makes life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.
We have taken baby steps from the year 2009 to date and the progress has been progressive. With all humility we thank God for whoever has given either in kind or in deed to make Cheery Children Education Centre what it has become.
We know you have sacrificed for the sake of our scholars and you can attest to the results of your support ."

Last year the students at Star Campus Junior School had to borrow uniforms to compete in their athletic competitions.
But this year, with the help of generous sponsors, the students were able to have their own uniforms to compete in both boy's football and girl's netball teams.
Below are team photos and some of the sponsored students who participated on the teams.
This sweet girl now has a sponsor family who cares about her future. She can draw pictures for them and write letter to tell them all about herself. And she can receive their emails and learn about their family and about life where they live.
The sponsor/child relationship is so important for the Students at Star Campus Junior School. These caring individuals invest a bit of themselves into the life of a child.
Education will be the key that unlocks their hopes and dreams for a better future.
The staff of education professionals at Star Campus Junior School serve the 105 students who attend.
The average teacher's salary is just $40 a month, but with no paying students there is often no income to pay the teachers on a regular basis.
June 13th was a busy day for the music students at Cheery Children Education Centre in Kibera. They participated for the first time in the Kibra Sub County Music Festival and they did not disappoint! Out of the eight categories they presented, the students emerged FIRST PLACE in three and SECOND PLACE in one! They will be proceeding to the County competition in the next several weeks.
A BIG THANK YOU goes to Eric La Rosa Memorial Foundation Board Member, PERRY DITCH, who has been teaching the Cheery scholars online. We also need to thank the staff at Cheery who have worked tirelessly to prepare the scholars for this event. Even though they went in as underdogs, these bright, talented students have proven that they excel not only not only academically but also in co-curriculum activities.
